[cma-l] radio scrappage scheme causes offence - linguistic and otherwise

How about an alternative scrappage scheme:

"Take your useless DAB radio to John Lewis, and they'll replace it  
with a fully functional (second hand) FM radio for only 10-20% of the  
list price"
