Social enterprises and people in the movement have just five weeks left to
enter or nominate someone to win a prestigious Social Enterprise
Award. The Social
Enterprise Awards<http://www.socialenterprise.org.uk/pages/social-enterprise-awards.html>are
the highest profile celebration of the work and achievements of UK
social enterprises and social enterprise people. This year there are three
brand new categories for the UK awards only – these can be entered by anyone
in any nation and there are no national heats.

New categories are: Social Enterprise Mark
Holder<http://www.socialenterprise.org.uk/pages/redirect-how-to-enter-383.html>;
Social Enterprise Unsung
Hero<http://www.socialenterprise.org.uk/pages/redirect-how-to-enter-383.html>,
and Social Enterprise
Partner<http://www.socialenterprise.org.uk/pages/redirect-how-to-enter-383.html>
.

In the other four categories there will be heats in each of the four
nations.

• Social Enterprise of the Year – open to any social enterprise operating in
the UK

• Start Up Social Enterprise of the Year – an organisation that has been
operating for up to two years

• Young Person’s Social Enterprise of the Year – a business or project led
by young people (including activities by schools, colleges and universities)

• Social Enterprise Leader of the Year – a person who is working in social
enterprise (paid or voluntary) and is proving to be an inspirational role
model

The winners in each category will then go forward to represent their nation
in the UK final.

Applying is easy – simply visit the SEC
website<http://www.socialenterprise.org.uk/pages/redirect-how-to-enter-383.html>and
select the relevant page for your nation to find all the information
you
will need along with a downloadable application form.

The overall winners in all categories will be decided by a panel of expert
judges, and announced at an evening ceremony to be held at the Indigo O2
venue in London on 30 March 2011 at 7pm, following the close of Voice11 at
the O2.

The Social Enterprise Coalition is working in partnership with the Social
Economy Network in Northern Ireland, Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition in
Scotland and the Wales Cooperative Centre in Wales, to deliver the awards.
