Nice one to get me going and warmed up first thing on a Monday morning.

 

Let me be negative once again ! ....... the Big Society is the biggest load
of cods-wallop I've heard in my life ...... total nonsense, and if the
''peasants'' as you refer to them can't see farther than the end of theirs
noses then I've got no sympathy. Cameron and Company are on fantasy island.
By the way before anyone points the finger I ain't a 'lefty' ........ all
big society means is the peasants doing work that paid people used to do but
doing it ''not voluntary''    but almost 'forced' ..... Because once they've
committed, they daren't let go ... they/we have to soldier on.

 

The radio fund is a classic example to start with ........ they want us to
do what we do --------- not just provide quality community radio (which is
40% of what we do) (quite rightly so)        but do all the other stuff as
well ..... young offenders, socially excluded, people with disabilities,
young people, elderly people (WE DO ALL THIS)
and we haven't got any money. The ''Government'' won't give us any .......
Why ??                      coz'    IT'S THE BIG SOCIETY ......... It's
already started.

 

They're all the same Labour / Liberals and Tories so I ain't pointing the
finger at anyone in particular. I certainly ain't sitting here and being
patronised or insulted by Cameron who has just wasted 8 million on a World
Cup bid. I had more chance of becoming King of England than we had of
getting the World Cup ...... furthermore, we got the Olympics and all the
money for the small community groups around the country has been gobbled up
...... so, in 2012 we'll have a good four weeks in the sunshine (hopefully')
and then afterwards we'll all go back to our 'Big Society'     only trouble
is half of the community groups will have gone 'belly-up' so there'll be
nowt' to go back to.

 

PRS/PPL ......... I stick by what I have always said and it won't change, no
matter how ignorant it might sound. Why am I giving Robbie Williams and Gary
Barlow money to promote their music ..... ??           why am I giving them
money everytime I play it as well ......... I'M DOING THEM THE BLOODY
FAVOUR, NOT THEM DOING ME ONE !     

 

Enough said ................ can someone at the next election please find
some money from somewhere and create a new party .... it's called the Common
Sense and Good Morals Alliance Party ........ 

 

Thankyou all ......... I shall now get back to wasting another week applying
for grants that don't exist ........ Oh sorry ?!      er  --    Big Society
..... We do it for nothing.

Hello

 

I'm concerned that the Big Society concept is being hijacked, and we are
taking the usual polite stance common to the British peasantry, which
assumes that 'they' know best.

 

'They' need our help. We can give it.

 

We have Get Media: http://www.getmedia.org.uk/ - Bill can give you a
password to load content. I suggest we start to use that facility to load
short statements (as well as programme content) that every station can then
broadcast.

 

I've a heavy cold but I'll make a start later today to question PRS/PPL. I
don't understand this system at all, so I'll make a few statements based on
immature assumptions in the hope that someone, somewhere, will tell me why
we have to sign a punitive contract that gives us no control over where our
money goes. OK, that's controversial perhaps, but isn't that what the
Community Media Association should be doing? Questioning, negotiating,
reasoning?

 

In the Big Society we have a say in how our world is run.

 

I always did believe that peasants were revolting.
