ONE GAME, ONE COMMUNITY CASH FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS

Kick It Out, football¹s equality and inclusion campaign, is urging community
groups in the area get in contact to receive money to run football projects
this autumn.

Thanks to help from the Football Foundation, the UK¹s largest sporting
charity, cash is currently up for grabs and will allow grassroots groups to
contribute to the One Game, One Community weeks of action, a two-week
national initiative in October highlighting diversity and inclusion in
football.

Grants of up to £1,000 are available to help fund activities that raise
awareness of the One Game, One Community weeks of action, use sport to
tackle discrimination and social exclusion and celebrate diversity. Projects
previously awarded funding have included drama productions, youth forums,
photography projects, educational programmes and football events for young
people.

Piara Powar, Director of Kick It Out, said: ³The weeks of action seek to
engage with community groups and highlight the way in which football can be
used as a unique social force. This money will allow community organisations
of all shapes and sizes to make their own unique impact on the initiative."
The grants on offer can enable groups to expand their membership base and
help publicise their activities throughout the local community. Previous
grant winners have used the opportunity as a springboard, using the contacts
and experience of Kick It Out to assist their work in the longer term and
find solutions to the issues they face.

Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation, said: ³We are
delighted to be supporting One Game One Community with Kick It Out once
again this year. I look forward to seeing some of the imaginative ways
organisations across the country will be using the power of football to
promote social cohesion during the two weeks of activity in October.²

The deadline for receipt of applications has now been extended to
Friday 7th August at 5pm.

An online application form with guidance notes about how to apply for
a grant is available at www.kickitout.org/290.php
