The MCPS-PRS Alliance has changed its name to "PRS for Music".

From: OnlineLicensing <onlinelicensing at prsformusic.com>

The music industry is changing and so are we.

As technology transforms the music industry, new channels and models
are emerging and boundaries are blurring.

Our licensees deserve fast, efficient solutions and music creators
have a right to be paid.

So we're changing to meet changing needs.

What's changing?
From January 19th 2009 we have a new brand identity – PRS for Music -
which replaces the MCPS-PRS Alliance brand. The PRS for Music identity
represents us more effectively; it's bold, clear and confident and
reflects our aim to provide better access to the world's best loved
music, as well as making sure the people who created the music get
paid.

You'll see our new identity on our website (the url is now
http://www.prsformusic.com) and in all other communications you
receive from us.

What it means to you
The way we license you stays the same, and we are committed to making
the licensing process as fast and as effortless as we can. A
performing licence will still be required whenever music is broadcast,
listened to online, downloaded or played. A mechanical licence will
still be needed whenever music is reproduced.

You don't need to do anything
MCPS and PRS will continue to administer these rights but under the
broader PRS for Music brand.

If you'd like more information on our new brand, visit
http://www.prsformusic.com/identity for a full explanation of what's
changing.

Best wishes for 2009.
