AMARC Will Cover WSF 2009 Alternatives in Bélem do Pará- Brazil.

Montreal, January 09, 2009. The World Association of Community Radio
Broadcasters, (AMARC) will cover for its global network the social
alternatives to neo-liberal policies discussed by civil society
organizations in the World Social Forum 2009 (WSF) to be held in Bélem
do Pará- Brazil, from January 27-February 1st. AMARC will be

The World Social Forum is an open meeting place where social movements,
networks, NGOs and other civil society organizations opposed to
neo-liberalism and a world dominated by capital or by any form of
imperialism come together to pursue their thinking, to debate ideas
democratically, for formulate proposals, share their experiences freely
and network for effective action. Belem of Para in Brazil will be the
perfect setting to highlight new world challenges of climate change,
ethnic and cultural diversity as well as links between labor and
production, among others.

From the Radio Forum, community Radio journalists from Africa, Asia
Pacific, Europe and the Americas, including AMARC information agency
Pulsar and in collaboration with other citizen media such as IPS, will
cover the activities of the WSF. The Radio Forum is a space for radio
coordination that integrates the work of community, free, citizen,
independent, alternative and popular radio stations as well as radio
