[cma-l] Own Language broadcasting - air checks

I would think it was also useful to have a cultural show cross check and database, as often BBC World covers the own-language broadcasts but not issues and events on a local level, so you might get a community station offering a show for an ethnic group served by BBC World already in their own language but by community radio in English at a more local and personal level.

Six Pillars to Persia a case in point. There are no English language shows for Iranians, nor a 'BBC Iranian network' station as there is BBC Asian Network. However BBC Persian exists, and they tell me their target audience is "in Iran".

Fari sound

Hello

The issue of foreign language shows and checking came up at a meeting I
attended recently. Would it be helpful to create an online database at
the toolkit for people to add their station and language programme
details to? This would be potentially searchable by other toolkit
members to seek assistance and language skills swaps.

Yours

Eleanor
