Grassroots groups across England have less than 48 hours to get their
applications in to the Big Lottery Fund's £38 million Young People's
Fund 2: Local Grants scheme.

The programme, which can offer grants of up to £500,000, closes to
initial applications on 16 October.

Funding is available for activities that help to change the lives of
young people aged between 10 and 18 (up to 25 in special
circumstances) and give them the opportunity to make a positive
contribution to their local community.

Projects should be youth-led at all stages, including planning and
delivery, with support available for a maximum of five years.

Although mainly a revenue programme, the scheme can also provide
grants of up to £50,000 capital funding to help groups redevelop land
or buildings.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete more in-depth
proposals, with around 100 projects expected to receive funding.
