“Invest in Community Radio”
Conference Hall, The Council House, Bristol
Thursday, November 20 2008
9.30 am to 12 noon
Community radio is making a positive, sustainable difference to the quality
of
life in Bristol’s neighbourhoods. Stations such as BCfm 93.2fm, Radio Salaam
Shalom and Ujima 98fm are collectively working with over three hundred
active volunteers to support skills development, lifelong learning and
community cohesion initiatives.
You are invited to attend the Community Radio conference for Bristol on
November 20th 2008 to learn more about how your organisation can benefit
from working in partnership with these radio stations.
The stations broadcast programmes for the city’s Muslim and Jewish
communities, Polish speakers, Somali Speakers, African and African
Caribbean communities and many more of Bristol’s diverse communities.
Volunteers from these communities help to deliver and promote programmes.
The conference will demonstrate investment opportunities such as
commercial advertising and sponsorship, service delivery agreements that
deliver to corporate social responsibility objectives and the promotion of
intercultural and interfaith community cohesion events, dialogue and
activities.
If you would like to attend this conference, or to nominate a colleague,
please
contact Asif Khan, Community Engagement Manager, Bristol City Council.
