BAY FM RADIO ON AIR AGAIN

Exmouth's very own local community radio station, Bay FM, will be on air
again this year during Exmouth Festival. Broadcasting on a new
frequency, 107.9 FM the station will be on air for 24 hours a day from
19th May 2008 to 1st June 2008. The station will also be streamed in
real-time on the Internet (http://www.bayfm.co.uk/).

Following two hugely successful broadcasts in 2006 and 2007, each of
which generated massive popular support in the town, the station returns
with a much enhanced programme schedule which will provide listeners
with entertainment, information and hours of fun. This year for
insomniacs, taxi drivers and other night workers, there will be
programmes with live presenters even during the night hours, to say
nothing of comprehensive coverage during the daylight hours, which
includes a new early morning breakfast show starting from 5am.

Weekday evenings from 6pm, sees a specialist music programme; country
music, blues, and the popular 2 hour rock show from 10pm as well as
specialised music from 60s, 70s, 80s & 90s.

Listeners this year from 6pm Sunday evenings can enjoy specialist jazz
and classical music programmes, the new Sunday Programming which kicks
off at 8am with our new religious show 'Easy Like A Sunday Morning'
continuing with an exceptional programme completely devised, directed
and produced by media students at Exmouth Community College from 10am,
as well as programmes dedicated to the older generation who will enjoy a
trip down memory lane with our new shows like 'Nice 'n' Easy' from
midday, totally 50s at 2pm, and 'The Way We Were' (WW 11 Memorabilia)
from 4pm.

Listeners will also have the opportunity for involvement through
competitions, by email or text. The Exmouth Festival strawberry jam
session will be broadcasted live from The Manor Garden's on Saturday
afternoon from 2pm and the station plans to give as much publicity to
festival events and participants; there will also be interviews with key
figures, who will be invited in, to play their music on the Tuesday &
Wednesday evening gig guide show which starts from 6pm, Bay Fm will also
have discussions from and about the festival, throughout the day.

The new weekday one hour 'Community Hour show' from 2pm will feature
discussion, debate and information about local matters, some of which
may be very controversial. For Further information go to
http://www.bayfm.co.uk/programschedule.htm for the full schedule and to
download a copy to put on your fridge!

As a community radio station, Bay FM is not permitted to make a profit
from its activities. However, the station is permitted to cover its
running costs and will carry advertising for local businesses.
Listeners are encouraged to support local traders by using the services
that are advertised by the station.

Bay FM is supported by a wide range of local businesses and by the
Exmouth Town Council which has included in their regeneration plan
recognition of the value of the existence of Bay FM. The station has
received letters of support of Mr. Ben Bradshaw, MP and government
minister, Mr Hugo Swire MP and, last but by no means least, has had
hundreds of emails and letters from people both in Exmouth and abroad
including from places as far away as New Zealand.
