Hello Everyone,
we have been working on this new radio production and would like to
offer it around to other stations.
A treat for Easter from Syllabub Productions: Lesley Castle by Jane Austen.
Taking the form of a series of letters between five young ladies, prey
to idiosyncratic vanities and follies, Lesley Castle was written when
Austen was just sixteen.
Margaret, Charlotte, Susan, Eloisa and Emma gallivant and faint their
way through 1790s England and Scotland scheming, weeping, preparing fine
'Pyes' and applying a great deal of Rouge. This rarely heard work
demonstrates Austen's humour at its best. A new production for radio by
Syllabub Productions features the talents of Ruth Connelly, Catherine
Guy, Kate Portal, Samantha Waddilove and Alison Ward.
Syllabub Productions is offering the work under a creative commons
licence to all community radio stations who would like to broadcast the
work around the Easter weekend. It is approximately 1 hour long.
Please contact us soon if you would like a copy and let us know when you
would like to broadcast the piece so we can include details on our
publicity.
Lucinda (Soundart Radio, Devon)
