[cma-l] £150,000 grant to encourage democratic participation

The Government has announced a £150,000 grant scheme to encourage more
people to participate in public discussions and get more involved in
shaping government policy.

The Innovation Fund (http://www.buildingdemocracy.co.uk/), launched by
the Ministry of Justice (http://www.justice.gov.uk), has been set up
to award £15,000 to the 10 best proposals from charities, community
groups and other NGOs that use approaches such as the internet or
face-to-face events to encourage people to become more involved in
democracy.

You can lodge your application up until 4pm on 26 September 2008.

In early October 2008, the selection panel will decide which projects
to support, on the basis of how well the applications meet the
selection criteria.
