Radio 1812 for International Migrants Day on 18th December
----------------------------------------------------------
Did you know that December 18th is International Migrants Day?

It was designated by the UN in 2000 - on that date in 1990 the UN General
Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Protection of the
Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (read the
Convention at http://www.un.org/documents/ga/res/45/a45r158.htm )

Radio 1812 (http://www.radio1812.net) is a one day global radio event for
International Migrants Day.

It is organised by December 18 (http://www.december18.net ), an
international advocacy and resource centre on the human rights of migrant
workers. For the second year running, radio stations, groups and projects
all over the world are contributing programmes and information throughout
the day.

Stations participating live in London include Colourful Radio
(http://www.colourfulradio.com ), Life FM (http://www.lifefm.org.uk) and
Resonance FM (http://www.resonancefm.com - look for African Essence
http://www.african-essence.com ), whilst London Link Radio is contributing
information and programmes.

Visit the Radio 1812 website here (http://radio1812.net/en/europe ) to see
which other UK stations are taking part (as listed on the website).

You can also download logos, jingles and programmes direct from the website
to use on your own radio stations: http://www.radio1812.net then
follow the links for programmes and/or resources.

Do let us know what you are doing, or contact us if you'd like to take
part in future and have a London link of some kind.

Best wishes
Cathy
