Good to hear from you as always.

At the Community Media Association we have set up an RSS feed to some
video content on The Showcase archive -
http://showcase.commedia.org.uk/ - but podcasting is not the most
appropriate distribution method for that material there due to digital
rights management considerations.

We have used Broadcast Machine -
http://www.getdemocracy.com/broadcast/ - as a platform for presenting
some material from The Showcase (see http://getmedia.org.uk) and
Broadcast Machine does support video RSS feeds.

The CMA has an excellent guide to making audio podcasts on our new
wiki server - http://wiki.commedia.org.uk/wiki/index.php/Podcasting_in_3_easy_steps
- and subscribers to this list are invited to add their own useful and
relevant content to the wiki here:
http://wiki.commedia.org.uk/wiki/index.php/Main_Page. The wiki will
shortly be updated to include information about video podcasting and
other technologies.

Has the custom build platform that you are using been made available
for general use at all? What advantages does it have when compared to
other similar platforms?

Looks good.

Yes, I'm on the developer mailing list for Democracy Player and so I
keep up with all the latest releases.

I have been working with a Ruby on Rails developer towards releasing
an open source content management system to facilitate mobile phone
blogging. This new platform is called Jakka and will incorporate
video RSS. Release of this application is imminent and is released
under the GPL (http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html) so I will post
more news of it here shortly.

All the best
