Your media organisation may be up for an Edge Upstarts Award if it works to
benefit the local community. Organised by the New Statesman magazine, the
Edge Upstarts Awards recognise excellence in social enterprise, a dynamic
and growing sector in which businesses trade for a social purpose. We are
strongly encouraging community media organisations to nominate themselves

About the Edge Upstarts Awards 

The Edge Upstarts Awards recognise excellence in all aspects of social
enterprise, including their vital contribution to training and practical
learning. They encourage extraordinary vision, ethical business practice and
social responsibility. This year's awards particularly recognise employers
who pass on practical skills and those who benefit from learning-by-doing, a
chief concern for many social enterprises.

With this in mind, this year's award categories are:
