FUNDING AVAILABLE NOW FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS IN SOUTH YORKSHIRE!

The Community Media Association’s (CMA) ‘Turn Up The Volume’ project has
now launchedthe second round of ‘The South Yorkshire Community Media
Fund’ (SYCMF). This fund is a new initiative from the CMA, to support
community-based media and communication projects in South Yorkshire. The
aim of the fund is to encourage and assist innovative communication
initiatives that will contribute to neighbourhood renewal, enterprise
development and employment in South Yorkshire’s Priority 4a communities.

The CMA can help establish and develop community media groups in the
region by:

1)  Offering development grants to community groups to assist in the
setting up of pilot ICT projects. Pilot projects might include
development of community web sites, upgrading community based ICT
facilities, trial community broadcasting initiatives and pilot ICT
training courses.

SYCMF Development Grants:

o Average grant value:		£13,500
o Min amount you can apply for:	£10,000
o Max amount you can apply for:	£20,000

This is for 6 months to one-year projects. For Development Grants you
must contribute 67% match funding (two-thirds): this can be in-kind or
your own funding provided its not European monies.

2)  Offering start-up grants to assist with business planning, trials
and prototypes for pilot ICT projects along with pre-proposal support.

SYCMF Start-up Grants:

o Average grant value:		£2,000
o Min amount you can apply for:	£1,000
o Max amount you can apply for:	£3,000

This is for 6 months to one-year projects. For Start-up Grants you must
contribute 50% match funding: this can be in-kind or your own funding
provided its not European monies.

The deadline for this second round of applications is Weds 22nd Feb 2006
by 12:00 noon.
Any applications submitted after this date and time will not be considered.

Please note: To apply for a grant your organisation must have a
constitution and be ‘not-for profit’ and your project must assist
beneficiaries in Objective 1 South Yorkshire Priority 4a areas. If you
are unsure if your project falls into a Priority 4a community there is a
list available on the website.

Projects would be expected to start in May 06.
