problem of how to archive live content and then automatically publishing
that content on an on-demand basis that we tend to explore from time to

Subject: [Socialsoftware] Introducing Plodcasting, Plone based
Podcasting tool

I've been working on a product called 'Plodcasting' for London's
Resonance FM - it's a plone based Podcasting solution.
Plodcasting is released under the GPL, and is therefore free code. I
do support this product and I am very interested in receiving
feedback, patches and questions from users.
Goals
====
* Plodcasting is a Zope/Plone project that combines a whole load of
Zope, Plone and Python modules in order to create an on line audio
'showcase'.
* The intended audience is small community radio stations or audio
projects, especially organisations that have many producers making
shows about many subjects.
* The software was originally created for London's Resonance FM
(http://www.resonancefm.com). If you do not listen to them, you really
should!
Features
=======
* Handle large MP3 files
* Organise the objects in a way that a radio station would recognise;
e.g. Shows, Producers, Episodes, Series, Recording. This differs
slightly from the organisation of the ATAudio product, which is more
geared towards the recording artist.
* Allow users to stream audio (e.g. via M3U files), download MP3s, or
obtain audio via podcast (via RSS2 XML, with enclosures).
* Where possible, allow big files to be cached via Coral Cache
(http://www.coralcdn.org/), to reduce the cost of bandwidth. Caching
can be disabled on a whole-site or per-object basis.
