Imperial War Museum Student Documentary Masterclass:

Next week (Wednesday 18th November)  the Imperial War Museum is
hosting a one-day workshop where established professionals from the
worlds of moving image archive and television production, will advise
students on the production of historical documentaries.

First Light Movies:
++++++++++++++

First Light offers grants through its Young Film Fund to enable young
people to participate in all aspects of film production. The funding
is available to organisations that work with young people aged between
5 and 19. Applications from Yorkshire and the Humber are being
actively encouraged. Grants are available through three programmes:

· Studio Awards - up to £30,000 for between two and four films of up
to 10 minutes
· Script Awards - up to £3,000 for script writing projects that team
young people with script professionals
· Pilot Awards - up to £5,000 for one short film of up to five minutes
in duration.

Deadlines: 19 January 2010 for all three programmes; further deadline
of 27 April for Pilot and Script Awards

Digital Revolution:

Video College:

DEADLINE APPROACHING – 4TH DECEMBER  - for applicants to the Video
College’s year-long film training program, Move on Up. This course is
FREE (funded by First Light as part of their Second Light scheme) and
will give 10 young people a comprehensive program of industry relevant
training, including links into the NFTS and mentoring from the likes
of Mike Hodges. Anyone who is from a BAME background, with some film
making experience and between 18  - 23 can apply. This is a really
amazing, unique opportunity for any young film makers. If you know
