EXODUS SHORTS REFUGEE FILM FESTIVAL
16-22 June 2008
Exodus Shorts is a unique film festival, into its fourth year, that
showcases the talents of refugee filmmakers as well as short films that
give a fresh and diverse perspective on the lives of Migrant communities.
When?
Screenings will take place across Manchester and in Liverpool during
Refugee Week 16-22 June 2008. Venues will include Cornerhouse, Imperial
War Museum North, Urbis, Contact Theatre and Picturehouse at FACT.
Guidelines - what are we looking for?
We welcome submissions, from both community groups and individual film
makers from the UK and abroad and across different genres from refugee
and asylum seeker filmmakers.
We are interested in films that are also produced by non-refugee
filmmakers but we do ask that they must either demonstrate their
relevance to the migration experience or have been produced in
collaboration with refugee communities. Films that have had previous
screenings are welcome but we would like to know where they have already
been screened and any awards they might have won.
Films must be...
Short films: Fiction, Documentary, Animation and Experimental
Duration: under 15 minutes
Screening formats: miniDV, DVD (PAL format) - DVD preferred
Multiple submissions: permitted but please provide a separate
submissions form for each film title
How do I submit my films?
Submissions are free. Please complete the submissions form which is
available from:
http://www.can.uk.com
or by email to amy at can.uk.com
Multiple submissions are allowed but each film must have a completed
submission form. Films should be clearly labelled and sent on DVD with
the completed submission form. Please also include a CD with 4 film stills.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: FRIDAY 4 APRIL 2008
FILMS SUBMITTED AFTER THIS DEADLINE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
