Major shake-up at The Media Trust

The Media Trust is combining its production arm Media Trust  
Productions with its digital channel Community Channel and has  
appointed Peter Weil to lead the new combined operation.

The combined operation will work together to produce charity content  
for distribution on a wide range of platforms, including the  
Community Channel, Sky channels, Five, ITV Local and Joost.

Weil takes up the role of director of production and digital media.  
He most recently worked at Discovery Networks as general manager of  
Animal Planet International.

His CV includes stints at Channel 4, Granada and the BBC's Topical  
Features Department.

As part of the changes Nick Ware, the controller of the Community  
Channel, has left the company.

Adam Perry, the Community Channel's head of programmes and campaigns,  
takes responsibility for the day-to-day running of the channel.

Jane Stephenson, who has been running Media Trust Productions for the  
past four years, will work alongside Weil in her role as creative  
director.

Community Channel is broadcast 24 hours a day on Sky 539, Virgin TV  
233 and from 6am to 9am on Freeview 87.
