*Brighton and Hove based company Global Digital Broadcast Limited are
set to pioneer the IPTV market with TVbrighton, the first globally
available community channel.*

TVbrighton will use innovative technology from leading hi-tech companies
including Microsoft and Sunniwell to revolutionise television delivery.
As the first broadcast quality capable channel to be delivered over the
internet, TVbrighton will offer an unrivalled service.

TVbrighton is the channel for residents of the City of Brighton and Hove
to view locally produced programmes – but internet delivery of the TV
channel allows the whole World to look in too! This means Brighton born
ex-pats, former residents and anyone around the globe with a love for
Brighton can tune in to TVbrighton's news, sport, music and
documentaries. In fact, anything from home grown movies to the local
school sports day.

TVbrighton will open up a world of opportunity to the Brighton and Hove
area encouraging new employment, business and community advertising,
trade and of course a boost to the tourist trade.

It will engage many people from the student film maker's and amateur
actor's and presenters to the accomplished and accredited production
houses to produce local content to captivate local interest.

There is an enormous demand for community and local television in the
UK. TVbrighton will become the blueprint for similar channels in 75
regions across the UK.

Current traditional broadcast methods for a channel on Sky or Cable
require over £2M of investment plus £300,000 a year for the license and
then approximately £300 per hour of broadcasting. Over IP at Broadcast
quality the costs involved are a fraction of this.

Global Digital Broadcast have a strong pedigree in broadcasting. GDB
Director, Jim Deans was responsible for starting Lanarkshire TV which
then became Thistle TV. LTV became the first independent land-based TV
station to gain an RSL (Restricted Service License) in the UK. This was
after a long battle with the ITC over frequency clearing and over £2
Million of investment.

IP delivery is the way TV will be delivered over the next few years with
BT and all the major Global Telco's increasing connection speeds to the
home. Our highest standard domestic UK line is Bulldog's 8Mb at the time
of publishing. In Japan and Korea there are many homes with 100Mb
connections. These sort of targets are very close with many exchanges
already technically capable of delivering this kind of traffic.
