The final Election Coverage Workshop takes place on 23 April in Inverness.

This is your last chance to find out how Ofcom will apply Chapter 3 of
the Radio Authority's News and Current Affairs Code and section 4 of the
ITC Programme Code during the 2005 Election.

It's also your last chance to get advice on dealing with tricky
situations from Rod Beards who has a wealth of experience from many
years of election coverage with the BBC.

Manchester Workshop
Over 40 participants from Community Media groups in the North West of
England, Yorkshire and the South West attended the second Election
Coverage workshop in Manchester yesterday.

The workshop generated lots of debate and Katy Boulton from Ofcom proved
that a session on the rules for broadcasters in the election period can
be engaging and exciting!

Here are a few comments from the evaluation forms:

“An excellent day, very useful. Thank you”

“We are now planning a few election based programmes.”

“There are now plans for a documentary on why people don’t vote.”
