Ofcom has updated its timetable for inviting applications for community radio licences.
Applications for inviting licences in West Midlands, East Midlands (including Lincolnshire) and the east of England, as well as for services around the UK on AM (medium wave), were anticipated in the second half of 2013. However, Ofcom has now planned to reschedule for 2014.
This rescheduling is necessary primarily due to the large number of applications received (in October) for services in West and South Yorkshire, Humberside and North- West England. In fairness to all applicants and potential applicants Ofcom intends to work on the assessment of these applications before more are invited from other areas.
The updated timetable is on the Ofcom website:
http://licensing.ofcom.org.uk/radio-broadcast-licensing/community-radio/apply-for-licence/timetable

\\
