COMMUNITY RADIO PROJECT TAKE OFF THE GROUND</span></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"></span><span>Peterborough
Community Radio celebrates the New Year with cash from the Lottery announced
today – The Big Lottery Fund has awarded £117,256, under its Reaching
Communities programme to PACO – The charity behind the project.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span>The money
will be used to pay for the salaries of a project manager and community
involvement officer. It will also pay for studio and recording equipment,
contribution to overheads, consultancy and advice over two years, providing
radio-based learning and volunteering opportunities for local people as well as
supporting local community and voluntary organisations to better promote their
work and services.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Peterborough
Community Radio project has been running for over two years and has so far
involved over 100 local people in producing exciting local radio programmes for
the Peterborough community. </span></p>

involve more young people, engage more residents and deliver to more isolated
