As with advertising, they could be paid on the basis of a percentage of what they raise - but only when it's in the Bank!<BR>That way they cost nothing to use and they have a built-in incentive to be successful!<BR>

Sad news for Forest of Dean Radio and few other stations who are facing closure, however at CMA last AGM we suggested a Regional Fund Raising Officers who would ensure all Community Radio's in their region would at least have core costs covered ensuring survival. </DIV>

<DIV>12 Highly qualified fund raisers would demand an high end wage, but this is possible if all stations agree to use funds from Ofcom (500K per year), rather then each station applying for themselves. Together we are all in this world of Community and radio, together we can survive and thrive, just a thought.</DIV>

<BR>I don't think we are doomed - no.<BR> <BR>But what is relevant is that there is no apparent correlation in dealing with funding sources and many CR stations do not have access to adequate business acumen.<BR>We currently have three stations out of the 27 we have facilitated which cannot pay their way and we are seriously having to consider removing vital components still owned by us in order to safeguard our own business.<BR>Ian Hickling<BR>Partner<BR>transplan UK<BR> <BR>
