Aune Head Arts and Villages in Action are seeking a Sound Artist for a
Devon-based arts project,
Reach, to begin in April 2009.

Reach is designed to bring young people and older people within a
village community together,
and aims specifically to work with older people who are at risk of
developing mental health
problems due primarily to isolation and lack of engagement in their
local community.

The artist will work in three rural communities in Devon to encourage
people to think about their
village, its past and its future. Drawing on the experience and memory
banks of the community's
older residents, we want to create a series of radio programmes
exploring these themes and
imagining what their community might look like in twenty years time.

It is important that applicants are experienced in working with
vulnerable and/or mentally ill older
people, and have skills in sound editing, production, radio and archiving.

The total fee for 60 days work across nine months is £10,800
