[comradio-l] The Radio Academy – Nations and Regions Awards 2009

The Radio Academy has announced the Nations & Regions Awards 2009, the
opportunity for stations with a TSA under 300,000 (including community
radio stations) to be recognised in their branch and to qualify for
the 2010 Sony Radio Academy Awards Station of the Year category.

The aim of the awards is to celebrate programming that caters for the
needs of a local or regional UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man
audience.  Judging and awards presentations are organised by The Radio
Academy’s Branches and will take place before the end of 2009.

Entries may be made by Ofcom or similarly regulated stations -
including Community Radio stations, BBC, BFBS radio stations - and
stations that have been broadcasting on FM, AM or DAB between July 1st
2008 and June 30th 2009.  If you work for a community radio station –
this is your only chance to get recognised in the Sony Radio Academy
Station of the Year category.  Last year there were 2 community radio
regional winners, one of whom went on to be nominated for the Sony.
