Peterborough African Community Organisation (PACO) is set to benefit
from a grant from the Lloyds TSB foundation announced on the 27 November
2008, thanks to funding granted to PCR – the city's community radio station.

The grants of £15,000 over two year period, were made to PACO, the
charity behind the project, through the Foundation's Community programme
to support small and medium underfunded charities that help
disadvantaged people play a fuller role in their community.

The money will be used toward the salary of the Community involvement
worker, travel; subsistence and room hire costs, increasing
participation and volunteering opportunities for all.

The Peterborough Community Radio that is broadcasting online
(http://www.pacouk.org) has been running for 18 months and has so far
involved over 30 people in producing radio programmes for the community,
with the support of Preston FM, a sister community radio in Preston.

Clifford Muchemeyi, PACO Chairperson, said:

"We're very pleased to have received the support of the Lloyd TSB
foundation for our community radio project. The grant will help provide
a platform for everyone to develop new skills, as well as bringing
people from all communities and backgrounds to come together and
celebrate sense of belonging to Peterborough".

PCR is always looking at increasing participation from all background to
