This event is put together by the CMA and Ofcom with Sheffield Live!,
Bradford Community Broadcasting, Seaside Radio 105.3FM, and 106.9 FM
West Hull Community Radio.
This an opportunity to get to grips with the application form and
receive specialist advice on completing each section. Delegates will
meet the author of the Community Radio application form and receive
expert advice from Licensed Community Radio stations in South and West
Yorkshire and the Humber.
Speakers
* Lawrie Hallett, Ofcom Senior Associate working on Community Radio will
provide an overview of the application form, guidance and assessment
process.
* Sangita Basudev, Station Manager, Sheffield Live! Sheffield is such a
vibrant, diverse and exciting city and Sheffield Live! reflects this by
giving space to local people, music, writers, performers and DJs.
* Mary Dowson, Director, Bradford Community Broadcasting. BCB Radio
broadcast a full-time Community Radio license on 106.6fm around Bradford
and the Aire Valley. They were one of the first community radio stations
in the UK to broadcast on a full-time Community Radio Licence, licenced
by Ofcom.
* Lyz Turner, Project Manager, Seaside Radio Ltd, 105.3FM. Seaside Radio
was established over four years ago and broadcasts online to Holderness
and East Yorkshire. ‘Making our community stronger’.
* John Harding, Managing Director, 106.9 FM West Hull Community Radio.
WHCR, on air from the end of March 2007. John has worked as a freelance
presenter in commercial radio for over 20 years and in 2000 became the
Programme Controller for Lincs FM.
