CMA Publishes new report on Sustainable Community Radio
The CMA has published ‘Making it Work’, a groundbreaking new report
on sustainable Community Radio. The report, prepared by CM
Solutions, is based on 5 case studies of successful Community Radio
stations in the UK and Europe and offers a set of guidelines for
setting up and running a sustainable Community Radio project. A wide
variety of stations are featured in the report including, 'Connemara
Community Radio' a station serving a small rural community in the
Republic of Ireland, 'Fréquence Paris Plurielle' which broadcasts
across the French capital to a potential audience of 10 million
people and 'OOG Radio en Televisie' the cross media multiplatform
project from the Netherlands whose representatives delivered a
fascinating presentation at this year's Festival of Community Media.
UK examples are provided courtesy of Bradford Community Broadcasting
in West Yorkshire and Desi Radio in West London.
The report is free for CMA members to download in the members’
section of the Community Media Association website.
Diane Reid, Director of the CMA, said: “This report brings together a
gold mine of experience from successful Community Radio stations in
four countries and will become a key reference for anyone involved in
or setting up a Community Radio station.”
