The One World Broadcating Trust's (OWBT's) special achievement award is
for an outstanding community media project or organisation that has made 
a unique contribution to the communication of sustainable development or
human rights.

On behalf of the OWBT, we ask OneWorld Radio members for nominations for
this award.  Nominations in 2004 are included.

OWBT special award 2004 winner

Radio Canal Révélation, a tiny 'homemade' radio station in war-torn 
Bunia in the Northeast Congo, which has stayed on-air through the 
heaviest of fighting, broadcasting music, news, information and most of 
all reconciliation, won the OWBT special award for development media 2004.

Richard Pituwa, founder of the station, was flown (by UNDP) to London to
pick up the award on behalf of the station team. Richard received a
standing ovation from an audience of 400 broadcasters, filmmakers, aid
agencies and NGOs.
