CMA COMMUNITY RADIO WORKSHOPS: How to Set up a Community Radio Station
(GOVERNANCE & PRACTICAL MEDIA SKILLS)

Thursday 21st July 09:30am - 4:30pm
Afro-Caribbean Millennium Centre, Birmingham

These workshops will cover the basics of running a successful Commuity
Radio station including: 'Basic Technical Things You Should Know' -
overview of the equipment you will need. How to actually get things out
there - internet, aerials, transmitters and editing techniques.

In the afternoon the focus will be on governance: 'Who Runs The Radio
Station?'. How do you get started? How do you get your team
together? How do you involve the local community? There will also be a
session on 'How to keep it all going' (Finance & Funding issues).

There will be a panel discussion at the end, with a chance to ask questions.

The workshops will be led by managers from the Access Radio Pilots
including New Style Radio and All FM along with CMA staff.

There will also be opportunities for networking, with refreshments and a
buffet lunch provided.

The cost is £25 for fully paid up CMA members and £80 for non-CMA members.
