Radical Radio Coalition: announcement and call for participation

Be a part of an international broadcast!

>From 2 July - 9 July the radical radio coalition will be streaming
internet radio from Scotland covering the G8 protests and providing
in-depth coverage on the issues being discussed.

We will be a coalition of radical radio makers - individuals and
organisations, experienced and novice (and all of us learning). We hope

to be working with as many radical radio makers as possible, in
Scotland 
and elsewhere. Programming will be in as many languages as are
supported by participants.

AS part of our 9-day broadcast, this Saturday, 2 July, we will be
broadcasting Make Poverty History Radio, a project of the Community
Media Association (www.commedia.org.uk) and Edinburgh Telford College
community radio station, ETC FM, which will be live at the Make Poverty
History March in Edinburgh -- more info on the MPH radio project can be

We invite you to participate in this week of 24/7 collaborative radio,
including in one or more of the following ways:

i) to rebroadcast our stream (or some of our material) on your FM or
Internet station.  In addition to making the live stream available, we
will also make available edited audio from the events surrounding the
G8 ready for air in a variety of lengths that can be rebroadacst by any
community or noncommercial radio station just by downloading from the
website www.g8radio.net.

ii) to provide us material to play. We welcome interviews, features,
news, stories, commentaries, music, etc. on a wide range of topics
including material around global warming, debt and poverty.  We
particularly welcome contributions from the global south. This can be
sent via the internet, email, CD or perhaps even received as a
collaborative stream.  

iii) to participate in scotland with us - e.g. making a programme, tech
support, reporting events, training others, archiving material, and the
myriad of critical things (not all of which will require technical
knowledge) that need to be done to make this actually happen.

iv) to listen to the broadcast at www.g8radio.net!  pass it on!

Please let us know if you wish to do any of the above, or indeed,
something else! If you have specific requests, also for language/time
slots for rebroadcast on your FM please let us know.  We will be
posting a schedule of participating streams and the languages they will
broadcast in shortly.

Finally if you know of any radical radio makers going to Scotland for 
the G8, please forward this to them/ ask them to get in touch.

radical transmitirá por Internet desde Escocia cubriendo las protestas 

G8 y ofreciendo cobertura en profundidad en los asuntos que serán
discutidos.  Seremos una coalición de realizadores de radio radicales -
individuos y organizaciones, con experiencia y sin ella (y todos
aprendiendo). Esperamos trabajar con tantos realizadores de radio
radicales como sea posible, en Escocia y fuera. La programación estará 
en tantos idiomas como puedan hablar los participantes.

Os invitamos a participar en esto, de cualquiera (pueden ser varias) de
las siguientes formas:

i) re-transmitiendo nuestra transmisión (o algo de nuestro material) en

su estación

ii) proporcionándonos material para transmitir desde aquí.
Particularmente agradecemos contribuciones del sur global.  Esto se  
puede proporcionar en CD, o vía Internet, o quizás incluso recibiendo 
como transmisión colaborativa, por internet

iii) participando en Escocia con nosotros - por ejemplo haciendo un
programa, ayudando técnicamente, informando sobre acontecimientos,
entrenando a otros, archivando material, y otras actividades necesarias

y críticas (no todas de las cuales requerirán conocimientos técnicos)
que serán necesarias para hacer que esto suceda.

Por favor decidnos si queréis hacer alguna cosa de las anteriores o 
algo diferente!  Si tenéis peticiones o requerimientos específicos,
también para el idioma o las horas para retransmisiones en su/vuestra
FM, por favor decidnos.

Radicale Radio Coalitie tijdens G8 protesten in Schotland

Van 1 tot 9 juli maakt de Radicale Radio Coalitie internet radio vanuit
Schotland over de protesten tegen de G8 en de achtergronden van de
onderwerpen die bediscussieerd zullen worden.

Wij zullen een coalitie zijn van radicale radiomaaksters/makers, zowel
individuen als organisaties, zowel ervaren als beginnend (en allen nog
steeds lerend). We hopen te kunnen samenwerken met zoveel mogelijk
radicale radiomaaksters/makers als mogelijk, zowel in Schotland als in
andere plaatsen. De programmering zal in zoveel talen zijn als 
ingebracht worden door de deelnemende mensen.

We nodigen je/jullie uit deel te nemen op één of meer van de volgende
manieren:

1) onze stream (of een deel van ons materiaal) uit te zenden in de 
ether op je FM radiostation;

2) ons materiaal toe te sturen om uit te zenden. We verwelkomen vooral
bijdrages van het zuiden van de wereld. Dit kan aangeleverd worden op 
cd, of verzonden via internet of zelfs van een samenwerkende stream.

3) om samen te werken met ons in Schotland - bijvoorbeeld door een
programma te maken, technische hulp te verlenen, aktiviteiten te 
verslaan, anderen te trainen, materiaal te archiveren en een grote 
verscheidenheid aan andere belangrijke dingen (die niet allen een
technische kennis verlangen) die gedaan moeten worden om de radicale
radio te kunnen laten slagen.

Laat ons weten wat je wil doen van de bovenstaande dingen, of als je 
iets anders wilt toevoegen: graag!

En als je speciale verzoeken hebt, ook voor uitzendingen op een 
bepaalde taal of tijd op je radiozender: laat het ons oo keven weten!

En als laatste: als je weet dat er radiomaaksters/makers naar Schotland
gaan voor de akties tegen de G8, stuur alsjeblieft dit bericht aan hen
door en vraag hen om contact op te nemen met ons.
