COMMUNITY MEDIA ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE AND AGM 2004
26/27 November 2004
South Birmingham College, Birmingham
Workshop discussion session (11.45 - 13.00)
Community Media, the BBC and public service broadcasting
This workshop will look at strategies for developing a constructive
engagement between the Community Media sector and the BBC. Participants
will discuss models for delivering public service broadcasting through
an equal partnership between the BBC and the Community Media sector. The
workshop will also look at a funding model for Community Media that
relies on a small percentage from the BBC Licence Fee.
As Charter Review gains momentum, this is an important time for the
Community Media sector to formulate a coherent position on the sector's
future engagement with the BBC.
