<div dir="ltr"><div><div><b>When?</b> 22 – 26 May 2017</div><div><br></div><div><b>Where?</b> London, United Kingdom</div><div><br></div><div>The <a href="http://www.media-diversity.org/en/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3153:media-tools-against-hate-speech-workshop-for-eu-ngos&catid=15:mdi-news&Itemid=33">Media Diversity Institute (MDI)</a> is organising a workshop for the civil society organisations countering hate speech and promoting rights of minority groups who are discriminated and targets of hate speech. Fifteen civil society activists from EU countries, will gather at the event in London between 22 – 26 May 2017.</div><div><br></div><div>The workshop organised within the <a href="http://www.media-diversity.org/en/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3129:media-against-hate-speech&catid=18:current-projects&Itemid=21">Media against Hate</a> project aims to explore different media tools that can be used in countering hate speech. The trainers will particularly focus on digital media tools and platforms that can be used to support the work of those trying to counter hate speech. The workshop will be highly practical in nature and one of the objectives will be for all trainees to produce at least one media campaign product during the event.</div><div><br></div><div>Google will also contribute to the workshop both financially and by providing one of its experts as a trainer. MDI and Google have joined forces in order to explore different ways of fighting online discrimination and hate speech, a topic which both organisations are passionate about. Several other prominent media campaigners and diversity and freedom of expression advocates will also contribute to the 5-day event.</div><div><br></div><div>CSO activists interested in participating at the workshop should contact <a href="mailto:info@media-diversity.org">info(at)media-diversity.org</a> for further information on how to apply to attend. All costs of participation will be covered by the organisers.</div><div><br></div><div>The Media Diversity Institute (MDI) is one of the partners gathered by the <a href="http://europeanjournalists.org/">European Federation of Journalists (EFJ)</a> for the project <a href="http://europeanjournalists.org/mediaagainsthate/">Media Against Hate</a>.
