</head><body><p>Probably genuine Ian - 24:00 is often used in broadcast and public transport to indicate midnight at the end of the date given, otherwise there is a risk that people told 00:00 on March 1st think it means the end of that day. They shouldn't I know, but that's life.</p><p>When I was in the BBC we had numerous systems whose clocks went up to 27hrs or 29hrs to make them appear in the correct day's schedule, because early hours programmes, say 1am on a Sunday morning, were regard by viewers as being at 1am on <em>Saturday</em><em> night</em>.</p><p>I think those days have past now, but maybe not in Ireland.The US Military time clock ran from 00:01 to 24:00 until 2015, but then they saw the light and changed to 00:00 to 23:59 (let's hope it doesn't cause a spaceship to take off on the wrong day!).</p><p>Alex</p><p><br></p><h3 class="in-block"><span class="mw-headline"></span></h3><blockquote type="cite">On 15 February 2017 at 11:44 Ian Hickling <transplanfm@hotmail.com> wrote:<br><br><div id="ox-3702123733-divtagdefaultwrapper" style="font-size: 12pt;
