color:#1F497D">I’ve really mixed feelings about this. I totally support the suggestion that organisations who already operate national and local multiplexes should be excluded
from participating in SSDAB, as this means that we won’t see a myriad of small local platforms offering variations on the current (already available) national brands. This should be the path to digital for community and small scale stations, as well as an
opportunity new commercial outlets. However, I’m less convinced that a wholly ‘not for profit’ criteria will either make it through parliament or be of interest to potential operators. I’m sure there will be CR stations willing to give it a go, and perhaps
a few technically minded experts who can roll their salary into the running costs and do a rather fine job; but should the criteria more be about an affordable and transparent cost with a nationally set framework or rate card?<o:p></o:p></span></p>
