<p style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;font-size:12.8px"><b>In The Community: Dunstable </b>is the new bi-monthly newspaper offering a localised perspective on events and organisations in the town. Produced by Home Counties Community Media (HCCM) as part of a community
journalism project, volunteers completed the design, content and distribution of the paper and will soon be distributing the second edition covering October and November.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;font-size:12.8px">Approximately ten thousand copies of the first edition covering August and September were distributed via local shops and businesses, and posted to local homes.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;font-size:12.8px"><span style="color:black">The new newspaper is a result of a six week course provided by HCCM - with funding from The Learning Partnership - which aimed to improve the media skills of local learners. Participants
were taught basic principles of journalism, including ethics, article-writing, interviews, editing and layout, before putting their knowledge into practice. Three of the students also worked towards an Arts Award qualification.</span></p>

<p style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;font-size:12.8px"><span style="color:black">Project Manager, Martin Steers praised their efforts, saying “It has been a great project to work on and the volunteers have done a fantastic job. The first edition looks really good,
and we’re looking forward to the future of the newspaper.”</span></p>

<p style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;font-size:12.8px"><span style="color:black">The paper seeks to work alongside local businesses and members of the community to highlight the lesser-known facets of the town, from niche sports to unsung heroes of the community.
The paper is looking to expand its team with more volunteers looking to develop media skills and get involved in the community.</span></p>
