</head><body><p>Neil<br></p><p>You didn't mention what I have found (for 13+ years) to be the most reliable option - 1.5GHz composite analogue - licence a quarter the cost of band I and entirely interference free.<br></p><p>Aiming 5G links is not at all hard - for a link as short as a couple of miles with say 16dB antennas the beamwidth is at least 15 degrees and the transponders usually have signal strength indicator LEDs built-in, so alignment is a doddle. Nothing like as critical as, for example, a TV satellite dish, and no special gear needed to assist.
