</head><body><p>Afternoon all, </p><p>I think this is good news for Community Radio.</p><p>Surely commercial stations (those part of a larger group) will dumb-down as far as possible to cut costs and provide better shareholder returns.  </p><p>If the requirement for local studios and presenters is taken away, how will they provide local focused content?  And how would they react to a breaking news situation?</p><p>We in CR are generally very strong on local content.   I wouldn't be worried that we will still be regulated - the most successful stations (from a revenue standpoint) aren't held back by regulation.</p><p>I have always believed that the team at Ofcom want us to be successful.  Our 'community and social objectives' are clearly important and we should push for regulation which works in our favour.</p><p>It looks like the company who conducted the research, and to some extent the Chief Exec at Ofcom, still look upon us as the poor cousin.  Do not be fooled my friends!
