<div dir="ltr"><div><div><div>I've completed the form but my questions are:<br><br>1. Why do fees rise above the rate of inflation every year?<br>2. About 20 years ago I seem to remember PRS or PPL (or both) would waive their fee for genuine not-for-profit stations undertaking RSL broadcasts. Why can't PRS and PPL do the same today for the community radio sector? The amount of money raised is negligible. Based on information in the public domain, I estimate that the whole of the UK's community radio sector contributes 0.02% of PRS's total income. <br></div><div>[Approx £175k from community radio against a staggering £623m which was PRS's income in 2009 according to Wikipedia]<br></div><div><br></div>I'm sure lots of other people will ask the same, and I doubt I'll get much joy but I think it's worth a punt from all of us.<br><br></div>Paul Golder<br></div>Phoenix FM<br><div><div><div><br><br></div></div></div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote">On 10 February 2016 at 17:19, Paul Golder <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:paul@pvg.co.uk" target="_blank">paul@pvg.co.uk</a>></span> wrote:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">I've completed the form but my questions are:<br><br></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div><div class="h5">On 10 February 2016 at 16:39, CMA-L <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:cma-l@commedia.org.uk" target="_blank">cma-l@commedia.org.uk</a>></span> wrote:<br></div></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div><div class="h5"><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr"><div>The Community Media Association is meeting with PPL and PRS for Music this <b>Friday 12th February 2016.</b></div><div><br></div><div>Please use the form below to detail any specific issues that you would like us to raise with the music licensing agencies.<br></div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://bit.ly/pplprs" target="_blank">http://bit.ly/pplprs</a></div><br clear="all"><div><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div>Community Media Association</div><span><font color="#888888"><span><font color="#888888"><div>-- <br><a href="http://www.commedia.org.uk/" target="_blank">http://www.commedia.org.uk/</a><br><a href="http://twitter.com/community_media" target="_blank">http://twitter.com/community_media</a><br><a href="https://www.facebook.com/CommunityMediaAssociation" target="_blank">https://www.facebook.com/CommunityMediaAssociation</a><br><br>Canstream Internet Radio & Video<br><a href="http://www.canstream.co.uk/" target="_blank">http://www.canstream.co.uk/</a><br><a href="https://twitter.com/canstream" target="_blank">https://twitter.com/canstream</a></div></font></span></font></span></div></div></div></div></div>
