Cost 50p to fix in the end, but it was a very simple SBS unit.

I guess it would be worth taking the usual route of working logically along the signal path to be sure the fault is actually in the receiver. Apologies if you have already done these preliminary checks, but have you checked that the Tx is show no reverse power (ie seems to be transmitting okay). If Tx seems okay doing a VSWR check with an antenna analyser on the receive antenna, or better still if you have a spectrum analyser that will cover 1517, check a signal is coming in on the receive antenna plug.

The Elenos is well made for easy internal access and maintenance - maybe if it does appear to be dead on the front end you could get Elenos to supply a replacement pre-tuned front-end module, which is an easy swap-out.

(As it happens we have an old RVR 1517 STL being kept as a back up in case a newer replacement unit ever fails, but unfortunately it is very heavy and is in a 19" rack at the top of a hill on the north-west Highlands!)

Good luck

Alex

On 25 January 2016 at 10:10 Ian Hickling <transplanfm@hotmail.com> wrote:

I should add to Mick's message that the Elenos ELR200 at the remote site is showing no incoming signal and PLL unlocked.
