I hadn't heard that JFMG no longer had that contract, it looks
like the new contractor bounced it.
Same people - just a different
company name
I thought that most radios used a high local oscillator
which would start around 98 megs? Is the other one an image?
Local
oscillator is designed to run at 10.7 MHz higher (or occasionally lower) than
the first stage circuit thereby generating a heterodyne of 10.7 MHz so
that the IF circuits have only one frequency (+/- 100 kHz) to amplify
I
also thought that one of the arguments for low power (<=25 W) was that
overseas co-ordination wasn't required.

Nice theory - doesn't work in practice.
