<body class='hmmessage'><div dir='ltr'>Congratulations to Stuart and Julian - and all the guys at West Wolds - for achieving commissioning by Ofcom at 13:30 yesterday to broadcast on 103.1 from their new studios overlooking the Market Square in Pocklington.<div>We're particularly proud of this as our 50th transmission installation and our 23rd full studio complex installation for Community Radio broadcasters.</div><div>On this occasion were able to introduce a number of studio innovations, including a comprehensive low-cost high-tech telephone system.</div><div>West Wolds were allocated the frequency of 103.1 and were looking for a new studio telephone number to match. In the office, they were already used to a VOIP telephone system, which runs over their broadband internet, however their existing provider was unable to offer a number ending 1031.</div><div>They were recommended to speak to Voipfone, whose Customer Service Technicians explained the pricing of £2 per number per month, and confirmed availability of a number in the station's area code ending with the desired frequency.<br>The station signed up free on line and the numbers were on their account right away. The Voipfone Technician then had a remote support session to the computer running PhoneBox Solo SIP software, and configured the trunk in a couple of minutes before testing to confirm everything sounded good in the studio.<br>We found out that Voipfone offers unlimited SIP trunks, so once the first incoming call is answered, subsequent calls won’t get the engaged tone – making it an ideal choice for stations who regularly run phone-ins and competitions.
