and some take the michael ….. we know who they are. Don’t waste

tinkering though. I agree with baby minding new work experience and trainees,
but surely not baby minding folk who have been with you 5 years. We’ve
still got volunteers who leave the Studio a tip, don’t do anything apart
from a show, break headphones, leave lights on, don’t follow simple
health and safety and as Ian says, if any are reading this, you know who you
are.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

studios and interfering with essential controls have been blamed on volunteers.<br>
My reaction is always "Why do you let them? You need to manage them
better" - to which the response is "They're all volunteers - you
can't order them around - or they'll leave"<br>
So the answer is good people management skills.<br>
Make them welcome - to feel an essential part of the station - and at the same
time gently tell them why responsible behaviour and good housekeeping are
essential.<br>
Some of our Client stations have a large number
of underprivileged volunteers and people with specific social needs.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

to the cause and will always show willing, however, there is still a small
percentage who want all the ‘glamour’ of being on the radio or
taking advantage of social activities arranged by a radio station but always
appear to be ‘unavailable’ when it comes to helping out at weekend
