<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr"><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px"><b>To CMA Members</b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px"><b><br></b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px">The CMA is looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to attend a truly members-focused <a href="http://www.commedia.org.uk/events-training/cma-agm-conference-2015/" target="_blank">Community Media Conference</a> at the University of Bedfordshire in Luton on <b>Saturday 12<sup>th</sup> September</b>. In the morning we have the 31st AGM and the annual <span>election</span> to Council.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px"><br></p><div>This
year there are five seats up for <span>election</span>, this is due to Murray Dawson standing
down and also the end of the terms for four current
members:<span style="font-size:12.8px"> Dom Chambers (Chair), Terry Lee (Treasurer), Jenny Campbell and Liz Hardwick. </span></div><div><span style="font-size:12.8px"><br></span></div><span style="font-size:12.8px">All
of these four members are eligible to re-stand for <span>election</span> and
Dom, Terry and Jenny have expressed a willingness to re-stand. The remaining nine Council Directors are not up for <span>election</span> this year due to their date of appointment.<br></span><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px"></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px"> </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px">We
have been fortunate that our Council this past year has been
particularly strong which, in a period of transformation, has taken on
some aspects of operational delivery. <br></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px"><br></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px">If
anyone is considering joining the CMA Council, whilst welcoming
interest from all quarters, the current Directors would particularly
value prospective candidates with skills in business, finance, and legal
matters. Following a facilitated development day, these skills were
identified to best complement the current range of skills of the
Council. Ultimately anyone who has a little time to give the CMA and who
shares a passion for community media and how our sector develops should
consider putting themselves forward.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px"><br></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:12.8px">The deadline for nominations to be returned to Bill Best at the CMA is <b>12 midnight</b> on <b>Sunday 6th September 2015</b>
- a scan or photo of your signed form will be acceptable by this
deadline if a hard copy will shortly follow in the post.
