I can't reply for the station, but personally I think that the same
imaging is just about the worst possible thing that could happen.

We broadcast in the NE of Scotland where the Doric tongue is still
the norm. Over to the West it is Gaelic orientated. What suits a
rural station up here would probably cause hilarity and disbelief in
the major urban areas - likewise, something that appealed down there
would jar horribly in tone, in style, in pace in everything in the
rural areas.

There seem to be several types of CR - at the extremes, a good
number appear to be young person training organisations who happen
to use radio. Others (like us) are radio stations who sometimes, but
far from exclusively, work with young people. We also work with many
others who are totally outwith our organisation but use us as a
method of reaching the broader community. There are lots at various
points between the two extremes. We are all *very* different.

I'm currently "admiring" the new web site for MFR in Inverness -
exactly the same as Tay in Dundee, Clyde in Glasgow, Forth in
Edinburgh, etc.

Sorry Nick, but the "one size fits all" approach is surely *exactly*
what is wrong with commercial radio - I'd far rather celebrate our
diversity in the CR world!!!

Cheers,
