<p dir="ltr">H4n is very good. 2 xlr inputs along with on-board stereo Mic recording. Good control of levels and nice visible meters. Use is always going to be dependent on the mics you use. I use rode ntg2 into xlr and that's very clean.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Currently using the zoom h6 for more complex recordings as it has up to six discrete audio source inputs (using xlr module). Functions as a mixing desk too, I recorded a show for resonance using this with dramatic inserts along with round table discussions.<br></p>
