increase the effective quota, or minimize the income that is counted towards it.
For example, if a station is reaching its 50% quota and has another advertiser
willing to pay, it can try to find additional voluntary effort to provide
in-kind contributions at the permitted hourly rate to allow advertising up
to fixed limit of 75% of income.</FONT></DIV>

use made of the in-kind allowance for voluntary input, but also that whenever
possible (ie whenever the sponsor/donor will agree to it) money is given as a
donation, sponsorship of an event or facility, or of non-broadcast, eg web or
print activities, without any commercial messages on air that would make it
classified as broadcast revenue. </FONT></DIV>

find a sponsor willing to sponsor the costs of web streaming, without a
commercial on-air credit for this, keeping it out of the 50% rule. Similarly, if
the station plans a leafleting campaign, local advertising of its own, or to
mount an OB event, a sponsor may be willing to contribute to those in return for
prominent mention on the leaflet or at the event, which all contributes to the
station's 'bottom line' without impinging on the 50% cap (or the 0% cap applied
to some stations).</FONT></DIV>
