Hi Gary, <br><br>I have one or two ideas which could be useful to you, but I am not 100% sure on the technical side, so best to get a second opinion here (I am sure there are plenty on the list who can verify/refute what I have to say!)<br>
<br>1. Streaming vs multicast: I am told that multicasting is a way of getting round the problems of bandwidth to your limited internet connection. I don't know exactly how to go about it though.<br><br>2. If you are willing to give it a go, (I think it's a really good thing) Bit Torrent DNA offers a really effective way of distributing radio programmes, (although as far as I know it's more for pre-recorded stuff) and the more people that participate, the better the download speed. I heard that the iPlayer works on similar technology (?) The downside is that BitTorrent has a bad reputation because so many illegal files are shared using it. The plus side, if you use it, is it is extremely economical, and you get stats on downloads, etc etc etc.<br>
<br>I'm really interested in the potential of the latter, it offers so much, potentially, for smaller stations.
